Cool Stuff I Saw: October 2020
Hey y'all, it's spooky month~
Life
- I don't think I talked about this before, but I think I'm on the asexual spectrum, but I also didn't really identify with the main (most popular) definition of asexuality (someone who's not interested in sex at all). I did some digging, and I think that I might be autochorisexual? Anyway, some basic info at the link. (Link)

- I took a personality quiz and my result said that I push everyone away ^^;; The blurb in the result was warm and nice though. (Link)
- Got back into MBTI briefly and was looking up relationship stuff for my personality type ^^;; (Link)

Chinese Entertainment
- This month, Lay Zhang started an idol trainee program. Here's a tweet saying that when he was younger, he'd expressed this dream of being a cultivator of talent, which is cool. (Link 1) (Link 2)
- Another tweet talking about when Yixing first started his studio in China. Apparently he'd done a lot of market research on his own, which honestly shows his dedication to success. (Link)
- This is just a very brief quote but it seems Yixing feels that the current market (I assume he's referring to the Chinese idol market) is impetuous and superficial. (Link)
- In the same vein, Yixing had his own ideas on developing trainees and talent on his other mentoring shows too. I guess I'd thought that Yixing was just on those idol shows more to impart his own knowledge, and didn't know that he was actually interested in mentoring and developing talent. But he's definitely now in a quite influential position as a respected entertainer. With his new agency, he has the potential to make even greater waves in the Chinese entertainment industry, which caters to millions of people. (Link)

- LMAO this is the best thing I've seen all week. So apparently there was audio of Yixing just generally being noisy and around his staff, and someone animated a video to go with it XD (Link)

- I'm also slowly getting into WayV. Apparently in an NCT event, all of WayV's older members went to help Yangyang :3 (Link)
- Apparently Chanyeol and Kyungsoo low key have a nice friendship, which is cute :3 (Link)
- I've been looking at Kpop merchandise again. What's interesting is that when it came to Got7, I preferred to look at subtle fan merchandise like enamel pins or stickers that didn't have the idols' faces. But when it comes to Exo, I prefer more identifiable stuff like polaroid photos. Maybe it's because I'm more of a fan of individuals in Exo whereas I like Got7 as a group? Or maybe it's because I think that Exo has some really pretty photoshoots in general. Anyway, here is some merchandise I saw on Etsy that I might be interested in. - Lay singing high notes :3 I remember that I was watching a Love Me Right performance where Lay sang his high note and I was like "oh shit what??" That's when I realized what an all-rounder he was. (Link
- I'm starting to realize that Exo smut blogs/fanartists/writers are the most entertaining parts of the fandom. In addition to being funny and keeping it real, they also have some really interesting anaytical/meta discussions. Anyway, this Twitter account is an Exo fanartist. They mostly draw Yixing art but here's also some Chanyeol and Exo-SC art which I thought were cute. (Link 1) (Link 2)
- I didn't know what the deal was with Exo and Pokemon Go but now I know that Yixing, Chanyeol, and Suho went out at night to play Pokemon Go in Japan and I am living for this because it is so wholesome and cute?!?!?!?!? (Link)
- I never saw the end to this video and it makes me uwu lol. Chanyeol was posing for a photo being all cute and stuff but the staff took the camera away and he whined for a bit before the staff member decided to take a pic again and Chanyeol returned to his cute pose IMMEDIATELY. Literally the most Chanyeol thing ever. (Link)
- Instances of Yixing mentioning Exo in 2020 :( He really loves his groupmates so much. I honestly can't see Lay coming back for a regular OT9 single. He's outgrown the group, even compared to the other soloists like Baekhyun or Chen. If he did return to Exo, that comeback would have to be be blown up and milked, and Yixing would need to have a bigger role (not like his throwaway lines in past songs) or else it just wouldn't make sense from an opportunity cost perspective to have him take time out of his schedule to promote with Exo. To Yixing personally, I think he'd go back to his bros as long as SM would let him regardless of money, but from a corporate standpoint, I can't see it happening :( (Link)
