- I stumbled upon a website that calculates the auspiciousness of a Chinese name, and comments on whether the characters work well together! I love this kind of stuff, so this website is perfect for me! (Link)

Korean Culture

- I learned that in Korean, cousins are called "four inches," as a measure of distance in terms of familial relationships. The term used, Sachon, comes from Chinese, but it's so interesting how differently the languages have evolved. (Link)

- I was looking up when the civil service examinations were held in historical Korea. According to this website, in the Goryeo period, they were held on the Ninth Day of the Ninth month. (Link)

- I learned about a Dead Man's Switch. Basically, it's a service where when you die, it will send out emails to people. This service will send you emails to ask if you're still alive, and once you don't respond, it will send the emails. Kind of a cool idea, though you have to remember not to miss an email lol. (Link)

- I sent a Twitter account I like an appreciation message for their nightly Good Night posts. They said they started making them when they were kind of lonely and I think it might be a good idea for myself, but I don't have a whole arsenal of fun photos to go back to. (Link)
