Asian Culture

- I learned about the term "Ruby character," which are small annotations placed over Asian characters that show their pronunciation. When I was young, I learned the Taiwanese Bopomofo system in Mandarin class, which counts as a Ruby character. (Link)

- Apparently there's a saying that in Chinese, for girls' names you look to the Shijing (Classic of Poetry) and for boys' names you look to the Chuci (Verses of Chu). Of course this isn't a rule, but I think it's to help parents find inspiration for names. (Link)

- I've been playing Tabikaeru. It's only in Japanese though so I've been relying on guides. Here's a guide on the summer and winter events. (Link)

- I read this summary of Sweet Pool many years ago and based on this summary I already really liked it. To this day, even though there is an English translation of Sweet Pool, I have not played the game. I personally don't love the format of visual novels (I find them kind of tedious). I've also heard that the translation isn't great and they cut out a lot of sensitive content, which kind of defeats the purpose since Nitro+Chiral games often have dark themes. (Link)
