Another busy month 🙃 I thought summer was supposed to be chill.
Adulting
- My friend recommended this Wise debit card that's basically a debit card you can use around the world. (Link)

- I was sent this article discussing the changes in American politics, using the West Wing TV show as a comparison to the past. Basically there used to be more of a willingness for the two parties to work together, but now that is totally off thet able. (Link)

Winwin
- So...I did a bad thing and I fell down a rabbit hole that made me feel bad. Basically, Winwin isn't the best at singing and dancing hip hop and I agree, but with the combination of him being away from WayV, there's a growing faction of people who hate on him. By following that rabbit hole (against my better judgment), I was led to this bilibili uploader who analyzed Winwin's difficulties in dancing. To be fair, I don't think the uploader is super harsh. They are looking at things from a skill point of view. But I think the narrative that's built around their videos is that Winwin isn't practising as much anymore because he's spending more time entering c-entertainment (particularly in acting) as opposed to kpop (in singing and dancing). I don't disagree with that. (Link) I think the sentiment is meaner in a certain circle on a certain social media platform where I first found this discourse. There's a group that thinks he's talentless but simultaneously seem to think he's very adorable. They go from very hateful and nasty posts to posts where they praise his beauty. The whiplash is insane and it's a very weird way to treat something that you supposedly have more nuance about. (Admittedly most of this behaviour is coming from one person) I objectively that Winwin isn't a great singer, dancer, or maybe even actor. And yet seeing him makes me happy. I like watching him in variety content. But I just focus on the parts of him that make me happy because it does nothing for me to focus on the other things. Anyway this is all I'm going to say on the topic. I wanted to keep my commentary here on Dreamwidth because I know no one reads my Dreamwidth and I don't necessarily want it to be found.
