Cool stuff I saw - January 31, 2020

This is the first edition of "cool stuff I saw." I don't know how often these are going to be posted, but I'm going for once a month. It will also depend on how much cool stuff I saw during the month, but I'll play it by ear.

There's a lot of Zhu Yilong/Bai Yu stuff because I was relapsing into my ZYL fangirling. Speaking of which, my mom and I were talking about Jackson Yee because she wasn't loving his styling in the Longest Day in Chang'an, and pointed to magazines for proof that Jackson is actually a good looking boy. After our conversation I was browsing the magazine and saw that Zhu Yilong was on the same page and I was like omg mom look this is the man I'm in love with. Bai Yu and Ni Ni were other notable names that were on the same page lol.

- Here's a thread on Twitter where the characters that Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu have played are compared to animals. (Link)

- Here's an even more fun thread on Twitter categorizing Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu's characters as cats or dogs and describing what kind of pet they are. I thought this was super cute. (Link)

- Someone giffed Zhu Yilong's character in Borden Town Prodigal and it looks incredibly suggestive. (Link)

- A guide to Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu's characters. I still don't know why they're called ZYL48 and BY48. Anyway I am a huge fan of Zhu Yilong in Guzhuang but Bai Yu's only been in like, two historical shows so his options are limited right now lol. (Link)

- Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu being cute as usual. (Link)

- Zhu Yilong was in a haunted house and his instinct when scared is to fite. (Link)

- A Twitter thread with lazy descriptions of novels written by Priest. Quite entertaining >3 (Link)

- I found an interesting paper on how A/B/O fic explores sex and gender. I haven't read all of it yet, but some of y'all might find this interesting too. (Link)

- I remember reading that some Chinese A/B/O fics use the Chinese names for A/B/O but I forgot what the names were. So I was doing some intense Googling at 10:30 PM on a weeknight because I REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW. Most of the helpful results were from Chinese sites that were like Yahoo Answers/Quora. (Link)

- I was on Lofter looking up Wei Daxun x Bai Jingting stuff because there is basically no English speaking fandom for Who's the Murderer/Chinese variety shows in general, which is what Bai Jingting and Wei Daxun excel at. I thought I had more links saved, but apparently not, so I only have one ^^; This gif was from season 2 of Who's the Murderer during the two-part mystery. Xiaobai was helping the detective to "search" Daxun's body. Daxun made it scandalous by acting the damsel, and the editing team made it even more scandalous with its drawings XD (Link)

- At the NHL All Star Game, Jacob Markstrom was wearing a snazzy suit, which I found out was from a company that Godfrey Gao was affiliated with and Markstrom had worn the suit in his honour. The company is called Yoyuu. (Link)(Link 2)

- I looked up the meaning of a Chinese phrase. It's something along the lines of "why don't you go up into the sky?" It's supposed to be used when you're telling someone that they're so great (why don't you ascend to the heavens?). I'm still trying to figure out if it's supposed to be used sarcastically though.
