- While reading the Dark Forest (second book in the Three Body Problem Trilogy), I learned of an author called Liang Xiaosheng, whose work was used by one of the characters to illustrate a point. I'm wondering what books of theirs I should check out. (Link)

- This Twitter user is talking about how sometimes you read a fic and then regret that you didn't make a note of it and now it's lost forever. I used to record the names of all the fics that I read in a Google doc. It wasn't until a few years ago when one of my favourite fics was taken down that I started making use of the download function in AO3 and started saving all the fics I read. (Link

Asian entertainment
- A meme about Kpop stans vs. Cpop stans. But I think this is the reputation of Kpop stans vs. Cpop stans who live in the Western world. Cpop stans within China are just as rabid lol. I think Cpop and C-entertainment stans outside of China are seen as chill because they understand that there is a lot of moral gray area where politics and entertainment intersect in China. I guess I just see a lot more C-entertainment fans taking into account that entertainment is not a vacuum. (Link)
- A Tweet calling out Westerners in Asian media and fandom. The Tweet doesn't go too into detail but it is something that makes me uncomfortable sometimes. (Link)
- I found this Youtuber who has reviews for those 20cm plush dolls. I really want to get those dolls but the process of buying one is rather tedious :/ Plus, a lot of the sales are made through Twitter, which I do not use. (Link)
- Excerpts from an interview with a BL fan about the BL genre. They commented on how Western fans aren't as open to representation as they like to think (using Voltron as an example). The other really great point they made was how Western fans would complain about BL for showing poor representation, despite not understanding that BL is made for an Asian audience. (Link)

- Some Chinese entertainment companies posted announcements that basically encouraged their fans to be respectful of celebs' privacy, but also to act in a "moral" way. This is pretty typical for China and Chinese entertainment, as public figures in the country are meant to be roles models for social behaviour. The Twitter responses are really grinding my gears though. (Link)

That's definitely one of the reasons that I appreciate both Suho and Baekhyun. I like that they acknowledge that they're idols instead of trying to act like "your boyfriend" or something overly natural. I know that they're acting and somehow that feels safer for me. (Link)
