Screencaps: Twenty-Four Hours, Season 3 (2018) - Episode 9
Episode 9, here we go!
Daxun picked up Xiaobai on the way to their morning meeting. Can't do that without a little bit of product placement though.
The boys. Looks like they went for black vs. red for this episode.
Each team was instructed to choose either the coconut custard tarts or the iconic Portuguese tarts. Shawn jumped the gun and made the decision for his team, choosing the Portuguese tarts. They were in Macau, after all.
Daxun was being a child and picking a fight with the other team.
Ziqi used Heihei to pacify him.
Both teams had to choose new captains. Looks like both new captains were voluntold lol.
Like Shawn, I had an inkling that Daxun was eyeing the captain's spot for a while.
And thus new team formations were created.
Dramatic Daxun strikes again.
Daxun then directed Yitian to add some more emotion into his performance.
Fun havers :P
It was about time. Shawn was chosen as the spy for this episode. There was another spy but their identity was not revealed at the time.
The first challenge was four-on-four basketball with multiple balls and a freeze component where everybody would have to freeze at certain points.
At this freeze stop, Ziqi grabbed onto the string of Yitian's bag lol.
There ended up being quite a few 1v1 battles between Shawn and Xiaobai.
The mating call for the spies was apparently this dance move, outing Daxun as the other spy.
Ziqi being an obstacle lol.
Retribution.
Jimmy manhandling Xiaobai. Nothing new here lol.
Lanxin tried to convince Yitian that they were meant to be. This becomes a recurring theme later on XD
More Shawn vs. Xiaobai showdowns.
Ziqi was a little too preoccupied to help.
Shawn rued the fact that they were on different teams. After all, Xiaobai was still his beloved son.
Red team applauding for black team who won the challenge.
Red team reading the rules for the next challenge. Each team was to fulfill specific objectives during lunch. As expected, this lunch just became a clownfest but that's exactly what we wanted.
The objectives for red team were:
1) Don't let Shawn eat dessert
2) Drink Jimmy's Heihei
3) Make Ziqi laugh big/guffaw
4) Have Yitian be the last to put down his chopsticks
5) Make Shawn say "bu cha qian" (means something like you have enough money)
Red team was eyeing Jimmy opening his Heihei. Daxun took initiative and went over to drink from Jimmy's Heihei XD
Once again Ziqi pacified Daxun with Heihei.
The objectives for blue team were:
1) Make Yitian say "hutu xiongdi" (muddle-headed brothers, the nickname for him and Ziqi)
2) Make Yitian feed a woman
3) Make Yutong sit closest to the door
4) Have Ziqi be the last to put down his chopsticks
5) Make Xiaobai say thank you
Ziqi did a big laugh X3
Ziqi realized he completed one of the other's team objectives and Xiaobai couldn't help himself.
Daxun dropped food on himself and cleaned himself up with a napkin. This was a spy duty.
Jimmy out of the blue asked whether that was a spy duty XD
Ziqi said it couldn't be a spy duty because Shawn was part of their team. But then Xiaobai was like you guys don't even know what the duty is.
Both teams took an intermission to check what duties they had remaining.
Jimmy showed Lanxin the duty relating to getting Yitian to feed a woman (implying that Lanxin should do it because she was sitting next to her). Lanxin muttered some $%^&$% because it was a real awkward challenge.
Obviously Yitian was trying to dodge Lanxin's attempts to get him to feed her food. Daxun tried to help Yitian out by intercepting XD
And then Jimmy tried to intercept Daxun's interception and they just ended up feeding each other lmao.
Daxun using nonsense to get Shawn to say "bu cha qian." It worked in the end lol.
Still working on it in this corner ^^;;
Jimmy tried to feed Xiaobai. Xiaobai said he couldn't eat sweet foods and Jimmy was like WHY?? HMM????
And Xiaobai was like "Because I'm too sweet! :3"
And then cringed at himself lol.
I didn't get good screenshots of this, but when dessert came, Xiaobai tried to use reverse psychology and insisted to Shawn that HE SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY EAT DESSERT. So Shawn of course Shawn didn't eat the dessert to spite red team. But when time was almost up, I think he realized that something was off and he took a bite of the dessert without anybody seeing. I thought it was a fun trap >3
This next challenge was fun to watch as a fan of red team and Xiaobai lol.
This is how the game went. There was a huge jenga set. A player would pull out a brick. On the brick would be a name and a number. The name was something the player had to act out for their team to guess (i.e. charades). The number was the number of points they'd win if they were correct. Easier words had fewer points and the like.
At first, black team was killing it.
And red team was doing poorly.
Xiaozhige managed to act out "ming tian wo yao jia gei ni na" (Tomorrow I'm going to marry you), the song that Ziqi had requested during mat racing/ball kicking/karaoke a few episodes ago.
Then, red team hit some miserable luck with a string of VERY LOW SCORING BRICKS.
Daxun said he was initially very happy when he saw what he had to act out. And then he saw the number of points it was worth OTL The word he had to act out was banana by the way XD
Ziqi and Shawn :3
Xiaozhige was up for black team, and he used unconventional means to act out koala. In Chinese, koala is a two character word, "kao" and "la," and rather than acting out a koala, he acted out the two separate characters. He first acted out "la." "La" is also colloquial for emptying bowels lol. And then he acted out "kao" by barbequing.
Xiaobai was pretty impressed with "la" XD
Yitian looked at his brick and looked into the camera like he was on the office.
What else can you do but laugh? X'D Red team had such bad luck with these two picks lol.

Okay this is the start of red team's comeback story, with Xiaobai carrying the team on his back >3
This was his task, "your mom is calling you to go home for a meal."

Black team was still going strong though. This was Shawn's task, "ni zan bu shang tian ne?" I remember having to look this up because it is rather colloquial. It's something like "why don't you ascend to the heavens?" implying that the person you're speaking to is so great. I haven't confirmed whether it's only used sarcastically though lol. Anyway, Ziqi got it and Shawn gave him a big hug :3

Again, spent quite a bit of time thinking about what to act. Daxun and Yitian squatted with him in solidarity.

This last challenge was a hat-tipping, egg-stealing game (tip the hate to steal the eggs lol).
Yitian is so freaking tall omfg.

Xiaobai's like yo what if we had to lay these eggs ourselves.
They got accosted by Shawn.
BUT IT WAS A DISTRACTION FROM THE REAL ATTACK FROM JIMMY. This was a good play considering it was two tinies vs. three tol boys.
Lanxin and Lil Bear.
Three rabbits come across on a little bear. Is this a trap??
Guys look at how freaking tall Yitian is wtf.
Yitian was ready to flip Ziqi's hat in case he tried anything.
But they left him alone.
Red team sent out Yutong as a decoy while they hid around the corner.
Jimmy went after her and then got ambushed.
Final battle lol.

And the spy was revealed to be Daxun.
