Review: Exo's Ladder 4 (EXO의 사다리 타고 세계여행 시즌 4) (2023)
Another season of Exo’s ladder! It was a lot of fun. We don’t get a lot of full group content these days because of enlistment. So it was super nice getting something of this length that was close to full group. You’ll like this if you liked the previous Exo’s ladders heh.
Format
EXO went on a trip and were given some games and challenges while on their trip. They were split into groups for each of day 1 and day 2. On both days, there would also be one spy who was in charge of sabotaging their own team. As always, major and minor choices would be decided with the ladder.
Production
The production was generally fine, the way that we usually expect from Exo’s ladder. They aren’t perfect in the sense that these videos cannot be perfectly edited. We’ll always see staff in the background and such because they work in such close quarters and this is both a variety show and a reality show.
I will also mention that this show felt very stretched. It was a three day trip and we got twelve episodes of roughly half an hour each. Some things were definitely stretched for suspense which was a little annoying at times, but since it was only twelve episodes and not more, it was something that could be overlooked.
Episodes
As the members mentioned at the end of the show, the vibe of season 4 was different form season 3. And I think a big part of that was because Baekhyun and Chanyeol were in this season. They’re the main mood makers, but also the two more competitive guys on the show. So I appreciated that this season had a different vibe that befitted the dynamic of these members.
This might be random but I loved seeing the insides of the vacation homes they rented. I love house stuff so it was kind of fun seeing how fancy it was and also playing games for the room arrangements.
Overall
A really fun season. If you love Exo, then you’ll love this lol.
